- Four ways: channel, bot, direct messages, group chats
- A channel and a bot reach your own audience, DMs and chats find a new one
- Mailing handles direct messages, Chat broadcast handles groups and chats

You can send a mass message on Telegram in four ways: a post in your own channel, a bot for your subscribers, direct messages from accounts, and posts in chats and groups. In TeleTraff two modules cover the last two: [Mailing](/en/telegram-mailing) writes direct messages, Chat broadcast posts in groups.

## What ways of sending a mass message on Telegram are there?

- A post in your own channel: every subscriber sees it.
- A bot: writes only to people who started it themselves.
- Direct messages from accounts: you write to people on your own list.
- Posts in chats and groups: every member of the group sees the message.

The first two ways work with an audience that is already yours. The other two bring in people you do not have yet.

## Way one: when is a post in your own channel enough?

When you already have subscribers and need to share news: an offer announcement, a new setup in a closed channel, the start of enrolment for a course, a discount on a service. You do not pick recipients, the whole channel sees the post. What it needs:

- Your own channel with subscribers.
- The text and attachments of the post.
- No panel needed: publishing is built into Telegram itself.

## Way two: when do you need a bot that messages subscribers?

When you need personal notifications and a funnel for people who came to you on their own: handing out the lead magnet of an info product, the status of a service request, a webinar reminder. A bot writes only to people who pressed «Start» in it. What it needs:

- Your own bot, created in Telegram.
- People who started it: the list grows only with those who came on their own.
- A bot writes under its own name, while TeleTraff modules work with accounts, so this way is done inside Telegram itself.

## Way three: when should you write direct messages from accounts?

When you need to reach people who are not subscribed to you yet: members of chats in your topic, a base from a parser, leads from a form. The message arrives in a private chat from a live account, and the person can reply. This is how offers in traffic arbitrage, client search for services and info-product sales work. What it needs:

- Telegram accounts: each one writes under its own name. In our experience, new accounts are better [warmed up](/en/telegram-warmup) first.
- A list of recipients: @username, a file, a parser base or the members of a chat.
- A first message and a plan for what happens after a reply.

What stops this kind of sending is covered on the page about [mass DM](/en/telegram-automation/mass-dm).

## Way four: when should you post in chats and groups?

When you need to show an offer to many people at once where the topic is already being discussed: trader and tipster chats, exchanger marketplaces, city chats, interest chats. Every member sees the post, and the group admin has the last word: they can delete the message. What it needs:

- Accounts that will write.
- A list of groups: your own list, a parser base, a t.me/addlist folder or groups the accounts already belong to.
- Text that fits the group topic: the post reads there like a line in a conversation.

How this works on a list of chats is shown on the page about [sending to multiple groups](/en/telegram-automation/send-to-multiple-groups).

## How do you choose a way to send?

- You have your own audience and need to share news: a channel.
- People have already started your bot and you need personal notifications or a funnel: a bot.
- You need to write to specific people who are not in your audience: direct messages.
- You need to be where the topic is already discussed, be it crypto, betting, info products or services: chats and groups.

The ways do not exclude each other. A common chain: a post in a chat or a direct message brings a person to the channel, and the channel keeps them in the loop. If you are choosing a program for this work, compare by the criteria on the page about [mailing software](/en/telegram-automation/mailing-software).

## How do you send direct messages in TeleTraff?

1. **Open Mailing and pick the accounts.** In the campaign, mark the sender accounts: one by one or as a whole pool. The module is described on the [Mailing](/en/modules/mailing) page.
2. **Build the recipient list.** Paste @usernames, upload a file, give a chat link or take a base from the [parser](/en/modules/parsers). For a chat link, the panel offers to collect its members at launch, with filters.
3. **Build the scenario.** Write the steps and up to five variants of the first message. Pick a mode: «Just write», «Wait for a reply» or «Hand over to Dialogs».
4. **Check the plan.** The «How the recipient sees it» preview shows the conversation before launch. The «Protection» block sets the pace.
5. **Launch and read the results.** A run starts right away or on a schedule. In the «Results» tab every recipient has a status: delivered, replied, or the reason why not.

## How do you post in chats and groups in TeleTraff?

1. **Open Chat broadcast and pick the accounts.** The list of chats is split between the chosen accounts. Each one writes to its own groups.
2. **Say where to write.** The «Where we post» block has four sources: «List» (a typed list, a base from the [parser](/en/modules/parsers) or a t.me/addlist folder), «Account chats», «From history: delivered» and «From history: failed». The module joins a group only where Telegram would not let it post otherwise.
3. **Write the message.** In the «Message» block add text, an attachment or a «Repost» of a ready post from a channel. The first message can be written by «AI for each chat» from your brief. A link button reaches a chat only through a repost.
4. **Set the rounds and the rest.** In the «Rounds and workload» block choose the number of passes, how many chats an account takes per round and the rest between rounds: «Rest from, min» and «Rest up to, min».
5. **Check and launch.** The «How the chat will see it» preview shows the message the way it looks in a group. The «Protection» block sets the pauses. Then launch the campaign.
6. **Watch what happened to each message.** The «Results» tab shows which chats were written to and what became of each message: whether it stayed in the chat or was removed. Chats that refused or delete messages are added to the «Chat blacklist» by the module itself, and it no longer posts there.

> **Where replies go**
>
> Replies from direct messages are easiest to handle in the [Dialogs](/en/modules/dialogs) module. Mailing hands the conversation over in the «Hand over to Dialogs» mode, and Chat broadcast gives it the people who wrote to the account privately after a post: switch on the «Private conversations» card and choose «Dialogs reply».

## What does the panel itself do during a send?

- Does not write to people you already wrote to, if the «Already contacted» memory is on.
- Adds to the blacklist people who blocked the account or closed their DMs, and chats that refused.
- Keeps the pauses set in the «Protection» block and never writes faster than the pace you set.
- Breaks the outcome down per recipient and per chat, not into one overall figure.

## FAQ

**How is Mailing different from Chat broadcast?**

Mailing writes direct messages: every recipient has their own conversation. Chat broadcast posts in groups, and every member sees the message. They share the accounts but have separate settings.

**Which accounts does the send go from?**

From your accounts added to the panel. In the campaign you pick them one by one or as a pool, and the list of recipients or chats is split between them.

**Can I add a link button?**

In a direct-message mailing, yes: the platform bot publishes a post with a button in your public channel, and the account forwards it to the recipient. In chats a button gets through only as a repost of a ready post from a channel.

**Where do I get a list of chats for Chat broadcast?**

Type a list, take a base from the parser, paste a t.me/addlist folder or choose «Account chats»: then the module writes to groups the accounts already belong to and joins nothing.

**What happens to a chat that deleted the message or refused?**

The module adds such a chat to the «Chat blacklist» itself when it refuses or deletes messages. It no longer posts or joins there. You can add chats by hand and export the list.

**Can a send be scheduled?**

Yes. Both modules can be put on a schedule in the Job automation module.
